Warhammer 40,000 is a table top battle game designed and improved upon over the years. Because of this since its inception back in 1987, over 30 years ago, it has become a large franchise. Its lore and backstory vast enough to almost fit a small library by itself.
The setting is mostly designed to be for a male empowerment and action audience. Still there are female and alien factions to fit a large amount of preferences. There are also books and video games based on the same franchise. Because of this and its uniquely over the top premise allot it to remain popular over the years even as its constantly being changed to update itself to new audiences.
The basic premise is that humanity has spread out into the galaxy and already had its glories time in history through ages past.Now humanity is a shadow of its former self and is so weakened by time and the many dangers of a hostile galaxy it is now at constant risk of collapsing from both internal threats, monstrous traitors, subtle corruption of all types and enemies from other races. Thus in this desperate time humanity is kept alive and surviving by the skill and heroics of its fighting forces of many types. From the religious militant sisters of battle to the numerous super human Adeptus Astartes.chapter organisations and down even to the many millions of humble guardsman defending their homes against invaders.  As a time of heroes, ignorance, technological regression and superstition you can join and fight for any number of beings for the right to succeed, survive or even thrive. For whatever your reasons you fight the galaxy will be unforgiving and intense, yet there is surprisingly still some hope to find through a strong will and determination. No one truly knows how things will end for as the phrase goes: "For in the Grim darkness of the far future, There is only war"

If you want a better feel for the galaxy and some of the background the Templin institute on you-tube has some good quality videos describing both the Imperium of man as well as the races & fighting forces involved.etc.

Any characters on this wix with (W40k) are based on this setting but feel free to suggest or use them for other setting. Just be aware they will have that connection and basis in the 40k universe should you try and fit them in to a different rp. Thus if you don't mind the rare mistake cropping in from such an origin feel free to suggest using them for any kind of rp. Including rp's that might not fit 40k lore/premise/themes etc. Fun is the main focus at all times, I simply enjoy 40k enough that I often draw inspiration from there when creating characters.
